A2 cold work die steel

A2 mold steel introduction:

A2 has high hardness after heat treatment, and can reach 60-62HRC high hardness after tempering at high temperature (500-520°C). It is good in strength, and the residual stress after cutting is reduced by high temperature tempering. Therefore, cracks and deformation after wire cutting of large molds and molds requiring precision are suppressed.

A2 Die Steel Chemical Composition

Chemical composition (%): Carbon C: 0.95～1.05 Silicon Si: 0.20～0.40 Manganese Mn: 0.45～0.75

                    Chromium Cr: 4.75～5.00 Molybdenum Mo: 2.00 Vanadium V: 0.28

A2 mold steel use:

1) Drawing dies, crimping dies and embossing dies.

2) Cutting tools.

3) Applied to thermosetting plastic molds and overall hardened molds.

Retained austenite is almost completely decomposed, and cryogenic treatment can generally be omitted.

It can still maintain high toughness under strong hardness.
