  Introduction of CR8 die steel:

CR8 can not only ensure high hardness and high wear resistance, but also avoid the disadvantage of poor toughness and easy brittle cracking of this steel; appropriately increasing the content of silicon and manganese can improve hardenability. The steel has high hardenability, high hardness and high wear resistance.

Chemical Composition of CR8 Die Steel

Chemical composition (%): Carbon C: 1.60～1.90 Silicon Si: 0.20～0.60 Manganese Mn: 0.20～0.60

            Sulfur S: ≤0.030 Phosphorus P: ≤0.030 Chromium Cr: 7.50～8.50

            Nickel Ni: Allowable residual content ≤ 0.25 Copper Cu: Allowable residual content ≤ 0.30

 CR8 die steel use

Used to make complex or precision stamping dies and drawing dies; suitable for cutting and processing

Cold working dies and screw rolling gears, deep drawing dies, stainless steel plates

Stamping dies, punches and cold forging dies. Mainly used in the manufacture of high-efficiency cutting tools.

Because of its high red hardness, good wear resistance and high strength, it is also used in

Manufacture molds with high performance requirements, high temperature bearings and high temperature spring steel, etc.
